If you're mounting the end supports over wood, use the ¾” screws. If going over sheetrock, use the longer screws with the provided hollow-wall anchors. Here's a pro-tip for cutting the rod... Wrap it a few times with masking tape. This will make it 10X easier to mark with a pencil and as an added bonus, it'll prevent the hacksaw from "wandering" as you begin your cut. As a finishing touch, hit any burrs with a file, drop the rod in place and admire your good work!
